Sarraute's plays : poplyphony and enunciation
2014
The corpus is formed of six plays of Nathalie Sarraute; it hides a duplication of enunciation types in the characters’ dialogue. This duplication is latent due to personal pronouns and verb tenses’ neutralization. The transition from an enunciation layer to another is not marked at all or not traditionally marked. Therefore, deciphering will be more complicated to any reader, listener or spectator. These works of art are also highly polyphonic in terms of enunciation as in semantics, as several voices are intertwined and as the characters resort to authorities of point of view. Thus, readers, listeners and spectators should identify enunciation sources and “other” authorities of point of vi…
High accuracy Raman measurements using the Stokes and anti-Stokes lines
1997
We show that by measuring the separation between the Stokes and anti-Stokes peaks excited by two different laser lines we obtain a very precise determination of absolute phonon energies. The method is useful for measuring small changes of these energies with strain, temperature, laser power, etc. It doubles the changes and avoids the necessity of using the reference lines in the Raman spectra. The method can be applied for the determination of phonon deformation potentials, for the characterization of strained heteroepitaxial layers, and for micro-Raman analysis of strain in silicon integrated circuits. We give examples of phonon shifts in Si, Ge, GaAs, InAs, and GaP as a function of applie…
Guest Effect on Nanopatterned Spin-Crossover Thin Films
2011
International audience; Nanopatterned thin films of the metal–organic framework {Fe(bpac)[Pt(CN)4]} (bpac=bis(4‐pyridyl)acetylene) are elaborated by the combination of a sequential assembly process and a lithographic method. Raman microspectroscopy is used to probe the temperature dependence of the spin state of the iron(II) ions in the films (40–90 nm in thickness), and reveals an incomplete but cooperative spin transition comparable to that of the bulk material. Adsorption/desorption of pyridine guest molecules is found to have a substantial influence on the spin‐crossover properties of the thin layers. This interplay between host–guest and spin‐crossover properties in thin films and nano…
Investigation of marine and continental layers in a stalactite older than 1 million years (Custonaci, north-western sector of Sicily)
2012
The performance of thin layers produced by molecular plating as α-particle sources
2013
Abstract Sources for α-spectroscopy studies were prepared. Constant current density molecular plating was used to produce layers containing the α-particle emitter 147 Sm. Different parameters of the molecular plating process were varied, namely the plating solvent (an isopropanol/isobutanol mixture, pyridine, and N , N -dimethylformamide), the applied deposition time (90, 180, and 360 min), and the surface roughness of the deposition substrate (ca. 10, 20, and 300 nm). Using different analytical techniques, Sm deposition yields, chemical composition of the produced surfaces, surface homogeneity, roughness and morphology were investigated. Alpha spectra were recorded with a Si solid-state de…
Development and characterization of a Drop-on-Demand inkjet printing system for nuclear target fabrication
2017
Abstract A novel target preparation method based on Drop-on-Demand (DoD) inkjet printing has been developed. Conventional preparation methods like the electrochemical method “Molecular Plating” or the “Polymer-Assisted Deposition Method” are often limited, e.g., concerning the dimensions and geometries of depositions or by the requirement for electrically conducting substrates. Here, we report on the development of a new technique, which overcomes such limits by using a commercially available DoD dispenser. A variety of solutions with volumes down to 5 nL can be dispensed onto every manageable substrate. The dispensed volumes were determined with a radioactive tracer and the deposits of eva…
Study of the Chemical Conversion of Aluminum Alloys by Coupling CFDE and EQCM
2004
The ability of the channel flow double electrode (CFDE) technique and electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM) for studying in situ chromate phosphate conversion coating on 5182 aluminum alloys was explored. It was first demonstrated that aqueous Cr(VI) can be analyzed quantitatively with the CFDE technique by reduction into Cr(III) on a graphite electrode. Samples used for EQCM were quartz plated by physical vapor deposition using a 5182 alloy target, allowing thin layers of aluminum alloys with a similar chemical composition to be obtained. EQCM was adapted in order to account for the hydrodynamic conditions in an industrial process, by placing the quartz in a flow cell. In orde…

Complex singularity analysis for vortex layer flows
2021
We study the evolution of a 2D vortex layer at high Reynolds number. Vortex layer flows are characterized by intense vorticity concentrated around a curve. In addition to their intrinsic interest, vortex layers are relevant configurations because they are regularizations of vortex sheets. In this paper, we consider vortex layers whose thickness is proportional to the square-root of the viscosity. We investigate the typical roll-up process, showing that crucial phases in the initial flow evolution are the formation of stagnation points and recirculation regions. Stretching and folding characterizes the following stage of the dynamics, and we relate these events to the growth of the palinstro…
